CALL FOR PAPERS

We are now welcoming submissions for proposals to the annual Warwick History Department Postgraduate Conference.

All papers will be organised into panels, and each panel will be followed by questions and discussions led by a panel chair. This year, in addition to individual papers, we also welcome abstract submissions for panels and roundtables.

Submissions for individual 15-minute presentations must include the following components:

  • A title;
  • An abstract of up to 250 words;
  • A short bio note of up to 100 words.

Panel proposals are invited for 75- to 90-minute themed panels. Each panel should feature 3–4 individual 15-minute papers, followed by a 30-minute discussion facilitated by the panel chair. All papers within a proposal must address a cohesive theme. Please include the following information (in a single document):

  • A title for the panel;
  • A 250-word abstract explaining the panel’s overarching theme;
  • Abstracts (250 words each) and titles of the papers on the panel;
  • A tentative panel chair;
  • Bio notes of all the panel presenters (100 words each).

We invite proposals for 60-minute roundtables driven by moderated discussion. Roundtable proposals should focus on provocative themes, emerging research trends, or professional development topics and must include the following information:

  • A title;
  • A 250-word description of the roundtable theme;
  • Bio notes of each speaker (100 words each)
  • A tentative chair.

The deadline to submit your proposal is Friday, April 24th. Please make your submissions HERELink opens in a new window

Please note that proposals are expected from all PhD students in the Warwick History Department and are strongly encouraged for MA students. The PG conference is a fantastic opportunity to gain feedback on your latest research from a collegial audience, to practice presentation skills, and to discover what research fellow postgraduates in the department are currently working on.
