Graduation Alumni Speakers

We're looking forward to welcoming you back to campus as one of our alumni speakers. Graduation is an important part of our calendar as we welcome new graduates to the alumni community. We're delighted that you're able to join us to inspire and cheer them on as many of them take their first steps outside of academic life.

 

Personal details

 

Your full name and job title will appear on our graduation screens. Please fill out the below information with how you would like it to appear during the ceremony and through marketing channels. If this changes before Friday 12 June, please let us know and we will adjust this.

Robe details

 

You will form part of the academic procession that enters the Butterworth Hall after the graduands have arrived and who sit along the stage. You will wear graduation robes. Your robes will reflect the highest level of degree you hold with Warwick.

The best way to measure for your hat size is to use a body measuring tape around your head.

Ceremony details

 

Graduation ceremonies usually last approximately 1hr to 1hr 30mins. You will be formally introduced to the audience to give your speech. 

 

The Say My Name project, led by the Community Values Education Programme (CVEP), promotes respectful interactions around names. When our Master of Ceremonies announces you, we want to make sure we have the correct pronunciation of your name. We would appreciate if you could spell out your name phonetically below (e.g. Dacia = Day-Sha) or record saying your name on Vocaroo | Online voice recorder and pasting a copy below.

Graduation lunch and dinner

 

On the day of your visit, you and your guest are invited to attend a lunch on central campus. You and your guest are also invited to attend a drinks reception and dinner during the week of your ceremony.

Guest

 

Many of our speakers like to share their day with friends or family. Please let us know about their requirements.

Travel and accommodation

 

We want to make sure your visit to campus is as easy and accessible as possible. Please let us know whether you will need on campus accommodation or specific car parking. We have reserved rooms at our on-site hotel, and we can allocate one to you if required for the evening before or the day of your ceremony. If you would like to stay on campus for an extended period, we also offer alumni discounts at our hotels.

Marketing and promotion

 

As an alumni speaker, you will be filmed as part of the graduation ceremony. This will be streamed live and made into a short video that we will share with the wider Warwick community. Our comms team would also like to capture some evergreen content with you about your time at Warwick and beyond.

Please share a current bio between 80 – 120 words, that can be shared on our webpages and social media. You can also submit a PDF or Word doc by emailing it to alumni@warwick.ac.uk.
