INTRODUCTION
Currently I am studying for a PhD in the Department of English and Comparative Literary Studies at the University of Warwick. Before coming to Warwick, I obtained my BA from Department of Foreign Language and Literature in National Chi-Nan University, Taiwan. My MA was from the Graduate Programme in American and English Language and Literature in National Central University, Taiwan. My MA thesis, Judging a Book By/Buy Its Cover: (Re)Producing or (Re)Presenting the Orient in Amy Tan's The Bonesetter's Daughter dealt with various aspects (representation, cultural translation, and consumption) of Amy Tan's works. My current research interest is on the transitions of China images in mid-18th century and early 19th century non-fiction proses. In addition to the academia, I also go into creative writings. I won a few literary awards in Taiwan, and published a novel Paloma (Pa-Luo-Ma) in 2004, which earned great editorial reviews from the press.
