INTRODUCTION

I am a PhD researcher in the Department of English and Comparative Literary Studies at the University of Warwick. Before joining Warwick, I completed my Master’s degree in Persian Language and Literature and worked as an Assistant Professor at Ghazni University in Afghanistan. My academic and teaching experiences have shaped my research interests in comparative literature, World-Ecology, Proletarian Narratives, cultural history, and global South–South intellectual connections.

About My Research

Department: English and Comparative Literary Studies

Supervisor: Mike Niblett

Title: Persian (Afghanistan) and Caribbean Literary Dialogues: Intersecting World-Ecology, Proletarian Narratives, and Cultural Dynamics

Brief overview:

My research examines literary connections between Afghanistan and the Caribbean by focusing on how writers from both regions represent the intertwined forces of colonial history, global capitalism, and environmental transformation. Drawing on a world-ecology approach, my project explores how landscapes marked by war, extraction, and displacement shape everyday life and cultural expression. I am particularly interested in proletarian narratives—stories of working-class and marginalized groups whose labour, bodies, and environments are deeply affected by global economic and political systems. Through studying these narratives, I aim to show how literature makes visible the cultural dynamics of resistance and survival, revealing shared struggles and imaginative solidarities across the global South.
