Harry Kite

I am a PhD candidate in the department of English and Comparative Literary Studies. My thesis is entitled ‘Hauntology and Memory in Contemporary London Fictions, 1992-2022’. It focuses on depictions of spectrality and memory in London-focused texts, interrogating the relationship between them and the rapid reshaping of the city in the neoliberal era. I argue that the proliferation of memory-related texts in contemporary London represents a collective attempt to remedy the increasingly amnesiac nature of the modern city.
