Sarah Hodges Authors New Book
Sarah Hodges, Associate Professor in the Department of History, has
authored a new book detailing the history of birth control in South
India from 1920-1940.
Success for History and American Studies in the League Tables
History at Warwick was 5th in The Guardian University Guide for 2009 and 6th in The Independent's Good University Guide.
American Studies was 1st in both league tables.
HRC Doctoral Fellowship for History PhD Students
Congratulations to Brodie Waddell and Mark Hailwood (History) for winning the Humanities Research Centre 2008/9 Doctoral Fellowship competition. Fellowships are awarded in order to enhance work on a PhD, and each Fellow now receives a £400 research budget as well as a £600 budget for a one-day interdisciplinary conference on Plebeian Cultures in Early Modern England: 35 Years after E.P. Thompson
History Society win Best Social Event 2008
Warwick Societies Awards 2008 declared the History Ball the Social Event of the Year. The annual History Ball was held on Saturday 23rd February 2008 and was attended by 350 people. The Ball was held at the Warwick Hilton and was a huge success.
