Join the Warwick History Hour Team – Paid Roles Available

The History Department is recruiting two students to join the Warwick History Hour team for the 2026–27 academic year.
Warwick History Hour is a popular podcast series that runs throughout term time, featuring conversations with academics, researchers and students about their work and the wider world of history.
We are looking for enthusiastic and organised History students to fill two paid roles:
- Coordinator
- Researcher/Scriptwriter
This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in research, communications, project management, digital engagement and podcast production.
Coordinator
As one of two Coordinators, you will help lead the Warwick History Hour team and work closely with the Student Research & Engagement Officer.
Responsibilities
- Inviting academics, scholars and students to participate in Warwick History Hour
- Collecting articles, books, research papers and biographies for the research team
- Managing script submission deadlines
- Scheduling podcast recordings and broadcasts
- Liaising regularly with the History Department's Student Research & Engagement Officer
- Curating the Warwick History Hour webpages
- Supporting promotion across social media platforms
- Assisting with funding applications
- Helping oversee project budgets
Person Specification
We are looking for someone with:
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Good digital skills
- Experience using a range of online platforms, including Spotify
- A responsible and proactive approach
Experience in an administrative role would be beneficial but is not essential.
Researcher/Scriptwriter
As a Researcher/Scriptwriter, you will support podcast production through research, content development and script writing.
Responsibilities
- Reading and analysing academic research, including books, articles, reviews, dissertations and research projects
- Summarising research findings and identifying key themes for presenters
- Developing potential interview questions for guests
- Writing engaging 5–10 minute introductions to guests and their research for a public audience
