Week 3 - Enlightement, Revolution, and Modernity II
This week's readings differ slightly from the course outline for this week. Please review the four primary source documents listed on the outline. In addition I would like you to read the following chapters from two books not on the syllabus:
- T.C.W. Blanning's The French Revolution: Class War or Culture Clash (DC 138.B5 -- non-circulating copies are also available at the Library's short loan section); the introduction.
- Richard Holmes' Footsteps: Adventures of a Romantic Biographer (PN 238.H6) -- Part 2; 1968: Revolutions.
As always, it is good practice to familiarize yourself with the selections listed under 'core texts' section.
We will also be discussing essays, which are due noon on Wednesday of WEEK 5.
In order to help, please refer to my essay guide.
Please get in touch with me if you have any questions.
