Eduroam Ubuntu 12.04 Setup


1. Click the "Network Connections" icon in the top right corner and then select “eduroam” from the list

2. Enter the following settings, including Single Sign On username and password then select "Connect":

  • Wireless Security: WPA & WPA2 Enterprise
  • Authentication: Protected EAP (PEAP)
  • Anonymous Identity: <leave blank>
  • CA Certificate: <see step 3>
  • PEAP version: Automatic
  • Inner authentication: MSCHAPv2
  • Username: <your full university username e.g. cuddp@warwick.ac.uk>
  • Password: <your university password>

3. Under the CA Cerertificate field, select the folder Icon and navigate to the location of your certificate store. In Linux Ubuntu this is located in /etc/ssl/certs and may be different on other flavours of Linux. Select the “AddTrust_External_Root.pem” certificate.

4. Verify the settings and then click Connect.

5. The connection will now be negotiated, followed by a "Connection Established" message.
