Our range of postgraduate qualifications are designed to allow you maximum flexibility in your approach to your postgraduate studies. You can complete any number of credits, from a single module or two, to a full MA degree. The qualifications are also stackable, so you can return to us at a future date and build up to a Certificate, Diploma or MA degree at your own pace, if you wish – or you can just indulge your passion for a particular topic at a module level.

Qualification: Postgraduate Diploma (must pass 90 CATS, including core modules)
Students on the PG Diploma are required to take the core module HI9K0-60 History Writing: Theory and Practice. This 2 term 60 CAT core module covers recent theories and methodologies in history writing.
Optional modules: Students on the PG Diploma can take up to 60 CATS of optional modules from History and related disciplines.
The PG Diploma is the ideal qualification for students who want to continue their study of History, including building their research and writing skills, but would prefer not to write an extended research-based dissertation.
PG Certificate

Students on the PG Certificate do not have any core modules.
Students can choose up to 60 CATS of optional modules from History or related disciplines. Students taking the PG Certificate can choose to take the core module HI9K0 History Writing: Theory and Practice as an optional module.
The PG Certificate is ideal for students wishing to continue their study of History. It gives students the opportunity to study a range of engaging optional modules, without the requirements of a dissertation or research training.
Students on the PG Award do not have any core modules.
Students can choose up to 40 CATS of optional modules from History or related disciplines. Students can take 1x 30 CAT modules in one term, 2x20 CAT modules in one term, or 2x20 CAT modules over two terms.
The PG Award is designed for students who want to study particular modules without the constraints of a full MA degree. The PG Award is stackable, so that you can return and build up to a higher qualification if desired.
