NB Each assessed element will be marked according to the standard assessment criteria. Students should ensure that they follow the MHRA style guide carefully, especially for the presentation of the footnotes and the bibliography.

Seminar contribution

I expect you to come to the seminars prepared and actively participate in the discussion. This means not only bringing in your voice, but responding to the other students' contributions.

1500 word book review

You will review a book from a list I provide in week 1. If you want to review a different book, please talk to me.

3000 word essay

A 3000 word essay on a topic of your choice. Please discuss the selection with me beforehand.
