History Course Syllabi

Below are the course syllabi for all History and History joint degree courses for 2024-25. It is essential that all students familiarise themselves with their course syllabi. This will tell you which modules you must take as core requirements of your degree as well as how many optional modules you may choose for each academic year.

Please refer to the student handbook for information on policies concerning modules.

For information regarding module selection and allocation, please refer to our Module Information page.

If you have any questions or concerns about any of the syllabi below, please speak to the UG coordinators via HistoryModules@warwick.ac.uk or your home department.

Please note that the syllabi for all History and History joint degrees have been updated for students starting in 2024/25. The following changes affect all students taking Year 2 from 2025/26 onwards.

  • The addition of a modern requirement as well as an early modern requirement for all second year students. In addition to their core module requirements, students in History (or for the History element of their joint degree) will take:
    • V100/V101: 90CATS of second-year history optional modules, of which at least 30CATS must cover the early modern period and 30CATS must cover the modern period.
