REWIND
Our play invites you to witness the investigation of a crime and the secret burial of its victims. In a whirlwind of powerful live music, energetic physical theatre and striking images, the show reveals an intimate journey into the life of Alicia, a young woman who dared to resist authoritarianism.
REWIND is inspired by testimonies of refugees whose lives were disrupted by dictatorship in Latin America in the 1970s and connects them with young adult migrants whose lives were affected by human rights abuses in the region in 2019-2021. It draws on the science of forensic anthropology which investigates rights violations through the exhumation of missing victims. Their methods of investigation were developed in Latin America in order to find people who had been forcibly disappeared during the Argentine and Chilean military dictatorships. The science led a revolution in how human rights are investigated.
