REIMAGINING MIDDLEMARCH;DAWINDER BANSAL AND RUTH LIVESEY‘IN CONVERSATION'

A relaxed yet dynamic discussion with artist Dawinder Bansal and Professor Ruth Livesey about the artistry of the author George Eliot and how her novel Middlemarch has informed Curious Objects.

George Eliot’s novel Middlemarch – A Study of Provincial Life was published 150 years ago. It recalls a time when George Eliot was living in Coventry. Warwick Arts Centre has commissioned award-winning artist Dawinder Bansal to make a new work that explores key themes of this novel.

 

‘Ruth Livesey is Principal Investigator of the Arts and Humanities Research Council funded project ‘Finding Middlemarch in Coventry 2021’ and Professor of Nineteenth-Century Literature, Royal Holloway, University of London’.
