Being a Warwick Doctor means more than simply graduating from Warwick. Our students say Warwick Doctors are different thanks to the diversity of their peers. As well as welcoming students straight from science, arts and humanities degrees, every year we're joined by people from a wide range of professional careers, bringing a wealth of experience to lessons and discussions.

Diverse Intake

Warwick's entry requirements allow students from a variety of professional backgrounds as well as new-graduates to apply.

We're also one of only a few medical schools to accept students who have no background in science, meaning each year group benefits from a wide array of knowledge, skills and experience.

Early Patient Contact

You will engage with patients from your first week at medical school, our diverse patient group offers our students a patient’s perspective of healthcare. By the end of your first year, you will have spent time on hospital wards and community placements across the region, where you can practise history taking and examination skills.

First-class anatomy and clinical skills training

We hold the most comprehensive collection of plastinated specimens in the UK. These specimens (from Von Hagens Plastination, Germany) provide an invaluable hands-on training experience for the doctors and surgeons of the future. Combine this with our newly opened Clinical Education Hub facilities and we're confident your anatomy training will be second to none.

Case Based Learning

Case based learning (CBL) is at the core of our curriculum and is integrated across all four years. Individually, and as part of a small group, you'll explore scenarios resembling real-world cases and linked to topics covered in lectures. We've found CBL supports our students to further develop their clinical reasoning, communication and problem solving skills, all while building their knowledge.

MB ChB Open Days

The best way to get a feel for life as a WMS student is to attend one of our MB ChB Open Day events. We run these a few times each year, usually in the summer, ahead of the UCAS autumn deadline. Our Open Days will give you an opportunity to meet teaching staff, ask questions and chat to current students.
