Dr Mrytle Pridgeon

Dr Mrytle Pridgeon

Dr Myrtle Pridgeon made a generous donation to the University of Warwick in 2002 to support postgraduate research work in the area of Biomedical science. The Dr Myrtle Pridgeon Scholarship is now awarded to two current Postgraduate Research students per year working in the area of Biomedical Science (open to School of Life Sciences and Warwick Medical School).

This generous donation came on top of an earlier gift to the University of Warwick by Myrtle’s husband Ted Pridgeon who, in 1998, gave the University of Warwick a gift of £1.25 million to fund a research professorship in neuroscience.

Dr Myrtle Pridgeon was born in Cambridgeshire, qualified in Medicine at Edinburgh and prior to her retirement she was a Specialist in Community Health for South Warwickshire. Ted Pridgeon was born near Louth in Lincolnshire.
