Kate Rathbone is the School’s Research Strategy Development Officer, a role which involves supporting early career researchers in securing independent funding and making the next step in their research career. In this session, she will discuss her career path from researcher to research support, working both for a funder and within the University, and discuss how her postdoctoral experience has helped her in life beyond the lab. She will also give advice on what to think about if you are planning an academic career, particularly around applying for Fellowships.
