Undergraduate Welcome 2026
'I’m delighted that you’ll be joining us, and I hope you are looking forward to starting the next stage of your studies with us.
Life Sciences is an exciting and rapidly developing subject, and during your time here you’ll have the opportunity to learn from scientists working at the forefront of research into biological systems and addressing major global challenges. You’ll also be able to develop your own interests and ambitions, while becoming part of a diverse and supportive community of students and staff.
Starting university brings many new experiences, so please do make the most of Welcome Week, get to know your fellow students, and don’t be afraid to ask questions or seek help when you need it.
I hope you have a very enjoyable and rewarding time with us, and I look forward to welcoming you to the School in person.'
Professor Gary Bending
Head, School of Life Sciences
'I am so excited to meet you! You'll be seeing a lot of me during Welcome Week, so do come and say hello. 'Welcome' is one of my favourite weeks in the academic calendar, along with Graduation and celebrating all of our fantastic students. I know that each one of you brings unique strengths and experiences to this community and I am so pleased to welcome you into our vibrant School.'
Dr Samantha Wilson-Thain - Director of Student Experience, School of Life Sciences
Welcome to the School of Life Sciences
Congratulations on receiving your offer to join the School of Life Sciences (SLS) at Warwick.
To ensure your transition into university life is as easy as possible, we have created this online resource which will guide you through your journey as an incoming student during your first couple of weeks with us. These pages have been split into key sections and focus on your preparation before arriving, Welcome Week (w/c 28 September 2026) and Week 1. Please do read through the ‘Before you arrive’ section in advance of joining us on campus as this will provide you with an insight as to what to expect.
Details of your induction and timetable, as well as links to key information, can all be found on these webpages. Please read your pre-arrival checklist carefully and make sure you’ve completed the required steps! During the first few days of Welcome Week, there will also be several sessions and activities, during which you’ll be able to ask questions and meet key people in the team.
