Hanson Bharth

About:

I am a final-year PhD student researching mathematical modelling of metal forming processes, in particular, metal sheet spinning. My supervisors are Dr Ed Brambley and Dr Sumit Hazra. I completed an MMath at The University of Nottingham in 2016 and an MSc at the University of Warwick in 2019.

Research Interests:

My interests are broadly in applying mathematics to tackle industrial problems, with my current research on mathematically modelling metal sheet spinning. To approximate such a process, we have developed a frictional model of a rigid cylinder rolling on an elastic half-space, which gives rise to a matrix Wiener-Hopf problem.
