  • Demonstrate an advanced understanding of the underlying pathologies and/or haemodynamics of ophthalmic conditions relevant to diabetic retinal screening
  • Demonstrate an advanced understanding of the epidemiology and aetiology of ophthalmic conditions relevant to diabetic retinal screening
  • Demonstrate a critical understanding of the treatments of ophthalmic conditions relevant to diabetic retinal screening
  • Demonstrate a sound judgement and understanding of the grading and referral criteria and the necessary steps for monitoring ophthalmic conditions relevant to diabetic retinal screening
  • Reflect on the differing methods of managing and treating the other eye conditions as well as their cost/benefit analyses and their associated side effects
  • Reflect on personal learning and apply that learning within the health care team and also people with diabetes
  • Critically apply these skills to current practice to ensure optimised patient care
