Afternoon Activities - 3 September 2020

Taster Session 1
Thursday 3 September: 2.00pm - 2.45pm
Bendy Bones: Making physiology fun!

As part of the Cells and Tissue Biomedicine theme we run workshops in every teaching block throughout year 1. A lot of these sessions involve practical elements, for example looking at your own lung function to help bring the physiology to life. For this session we’ll have a look at one of the hands-on Block 4 practical sessions.

Taster Session 2
Thursday 3 September: 2.45pm - 3.30pm
Drawing in Order to Learn Anatomy

Ever wondered what the best way to learn anatomy is? This session will look at one of the ways that we encourage our medical students at Warwick to learn anatomy, and that is through drawing. You don’t have to be an artist to draw anatomy in a way that encourages deep learning. Please join Dr Erin Fillmore, Associate Professor of Clinical Anatomy, for a short talk on the benefits of drawing in learning, and don’t forget to bring your paper and pens along, as we will also have a draw-along activity!

This taster session will take place on Microsoft Teams.

You can also check out our dedicated video of Clinical Anatomy and Imaging to get a feel for what studying anatomy at Warwick is like.

Taster Session 3:
Thursday 3 September: 3.30pm - 4.15pm
Ethics - Experimenting with your thoughts

Sometimes our intuitions are a good guide to what is right or wrong morally speaking. Often they are not. In this interactive session we will use thought experiments to draw out our moral intuitions, and we will explore whether we really are the morally upstanding people that we probably like to think we are.
