Warwick to lead APTS from 2016/17 -- 2020/21
The APTS executive committee has decided that, following its first ten years of operation, APTS should continue to be led from Warwick for a further five years. From 2016/17 Ben Graham is expected to remain in post as Programme Manager; Adam Johansen will be joined by David Croydon as co-director.
New EPSRC funding for APTS
Firth, Johansen, Kendall and others have been awarded an EPSRC grant of £144k as follow-on funding for operating APTS through till September 2016.
Fifteen universities become "Underwriting Institutions" of APTS
The registration period for departments making a commitment to use and/or support the PhD-training initiative APTS in 2010-11 has just closed, and the number of APTS Member Institutions has risen again, to 26 (last year it was 24). Fifteen of those departments will form the first cohort of APTS Underwriting Institutions, having each made a financial commitment that will help APTS to secure facilities at APTS-week hosting universities well in advance.

Statistics PhD academy takes off
Even before its first full year of operation in 2007-8, the new EPSRC-funded Academy for PhD Training in Statistics (APTS) has signed up more than 20 member institutions, including three from outside the UK.
