Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
We are diverse, we are inclusive, we are WMG
Equality, diversity and inclusion at the University of Warwick is about removing economic, social and cultural barriers that have prevented people from working, studying and succeeding.
There is much to celebrate in our progress on social inclusion and widening participation. But we need to do much more. We want to create a community for staff and students where differences of culture and identity are celebrated, where differences of opinion are welcomed and respected, and where prejudice and socially unacceptable behaviours of any kind are never tolerated.
Athena SWAN
Recognising advancement of gender equality: representation, progression and success for all.
The Athena Swan Charter is a framework which is used across the globe to support and transform gender equality within higher education and research.
By being part of Athena Swan, WMG is committing to adopting the Charter's ten key principles within our policies, practices, action plan and culture. We have been proud members of the Athena Swan Charter since 2013 and WMG currently holds a department silver award.
Celebrating Women in Engineering
WoW aims to build an inspiring, multi-disciplinary community of women in the STEM fields within WMG and to provide a support, social and information base.
.
WMG research forum
The research forum aims to raise a voice of, and for WMG researchers and enhance collaboration between the researchers across WMG and into the broader University.
A range of monthly and biannual events are held including research presentations, networking and career development support sessions. All academics, researchers, engineers and PGRs are welcome to present at the events or simply join as an audience.

Flexible working
The WMG Flexible Working Policy was launched as a direct response to feedback received from the 2016 Pulse staff survey and our ongoing Athena Swan activities. The purpose of this policy is to help improve the work-life balance and wellbeing of all staff at WMG.
This includes flexible start and finish times and lunch hours; remote working; and the scheduling of meetings and training within core hours.
