Exam Board

In order for the University to make an award, all candidates have to be considered by a Board of Examiners. You are currently scheduled be considered at the forthcoming meeting of our Postgraduate Boards of Examiners (subject to all the necessary marks being available in time). For information, this Board is not a meeting that students are expected or required to attend. It is a staff-only meeting.

Criteria for the various awards, including Merit and Distinction, are available at the page above this.

The results of the Exam Board (subject to Senate approval) will be shared via a data reveal link to be sent to you by email as soon as possible after the Exam Boards. You will also receive emails from the University student records team codifying your outcomes.

You will receive your results by:

Tuesday 18th June 2024

 Mitigating (or extenuating) Circumstances

In all cases mitigating circumstances affecting the performance of individual candidates may be taken into consideration by the Board, but of course the Board can only do this if it knows about them in advance of its meeting and they are properly documented (e.g. by medical evidence).

If there are special factors that affected your performance it is essential that you complete the appropriate mitigation form (if not already completed) in your personal profile in Tabula (click on Personal Circumstances), by the deadline stated, even if you have already spoken to a member of staff about them, as they would not be automatically passed on.

Please note that while it is acknowledged that cultural attitudes to the disclosure of personal information may vary, students are expected to disclose all matters they wish to have taken into consideration by the Board of Examiners that they think may have had an adverse impact on them in academic terms. Such information is confidential to the Mitigation sub-panel of the Exam Board and will not be circulated further than that.

Guidance on submitting mitigation is available with the form in Tabula.

Please note that although Tabula notifies you of dates/times of Mitigation Panels, these are also staff-only meetings that you are not expected or required to attend. You should also not expect immediate feedback as it takes time to process decisions.

Mitigation form:

Go to your personal profile page in Tabula and select Personal Circumstances

Mitigation deadline:

8am (UK time) Friday 17th May 2024

Module Marks

You should be able to review the module marks which will be presented to the Board by going to the University on-line student records screen at http://www.warwick.ac.uk/evision or by going to the Modules page in your tabula profile (you will need to sign in using your Warwick ITS account to access your data). If you have a project, the mark will not be visible until it has been agreed by a Board of Examiners.

If you believe there are any errors or inaccuracies in the marks shown, please contact your Student Office to check.

Graduation and certificates

If the Exam Board recommends MSc (to students registered for MSc), you will be eligible to graduate. Information about graduation is available online https://warwick.ac.uk/services/academicoffice/congregation/ceremonies/

It is usual for the deadline for registering for Graduation to be before your results are published. If you are intending to attend the ceremony (should you be successful) you should ensure that you register for Graduation. If you are not eligible to graduate, you will be automatically removed from the list.

For students receiving a sub-qualification of the MSc (Postgraduate Diploma, Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Award), the certificate will be posted to your address as recorded on eVision. Please ensure it is correct by going to http://warwick.ac.uk/evision and logging in with your ITS account).
