Polymers “battered” with nanoparticles could create self healing paints and clever packaging

Research chemists at the University of Warwick have devised an elegant process which simply and cheaply covers small particles of polymer with a layer of silica-based nanoparticles. The final result provides a highly versatile material that can be used to create a range of high performance materials such as; self healing paints, and clever packaging that can be tailored to let precise levels of water, air or both pass in a particular direction.

Black entrepreneurs 4 times more likely to be refused credit than white businesses

Research by Dr Stuart Fraser of Warwick Business School has found that many Ethnic Minority owned Businesses struggle to obtain credit in comparison to White owned businesses. Black and Bangladeshi owned businesses are the most likely to be refused credit, facing up to four times as many refusals as white owned businesses.

Research finds split in perception of similarity that could double web advertising

A study by Psychology researchers at the University of Warwick has found a radical 50/50 split in how people decide "What makes two things seem similar?". This research could mean that some advertisers and marketers could be failing to reach up to half of their potential audience and it could double the number of opportunities available in key web advertising methods such as Google AdWords.
