£1.5m gift creates new Lord Bhattacharyya Chair in Education role at WMG, continuing Lord Bhattacharyya’s legacy

A private philanthropic gift of £1.5m from a Warwick alumnus has created a new role in WMG, entitled the Lord Bhattacharyya Chair in Education. The new role will continue the late Lord Bhattacharyya’s legacy enhancing WMG’s academic expertise in the understanding, development and teaching of engineering and manufacturing internationally.


Prof. Lord Bhattacharyya building named one of the UK’s best new buildings in RIBA 2021 National Awards

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) has today (Thursday 9 September) announced the 54 winners of the 2021 RIBA National Awards for architecture, which includes the Professor Lord Bhattacharyya building, home to NAIC (National Automotive Innovation Centre) at WMG, University of Warwick.


UK’s most outstanding university/industry collaborations shortlisted for Bhattacharyya Award

The Royal Academy of Engineering and WMG, at the University of Warwick, have shortlisted 11 exceptional collaborations for the inaugural Bhattacharyya Award. With a cash prize of £25,000, the Bhattacharyya Award will be presented to the team who best demonstrate how industry and universities can work together. Winners will be announced on 16 September 2021.


Three RIBA award wins for the Prof. Lord Bhattacharyya building

The Prof. Lord Bhattacharyya building, home to the National Automotive Innovation Centre, based at the University of Warwick, has received an impressive three awards at the RIBA West Midlands regional awards.


The Prof. Lord Bhattacharyya building crowned best workplace in the UK

The BCO Awards, recognises the highest quality developments in the UK and sets the standard for excellence in both the regional and national office sector.

The Professor Lord Bhattacharyya building is a Midlands and Central England regional award winner, and was also crowned the national Innovation Award winner, at a virtual ceremony last night (Thursday 10th June).


Bhattacharyya Award for university/industry collaboration opens for entries

WMG, at the University of Warwick and The Royal Academy of Engineering are inviting entries for a new annual award to celebrate collaboration between UK academics and industry. With a cash prize of £25,000, the Bhattacharyya Award will be presented to the team who best demonstrate how industry and universities can work together. Entries must be submitted by 31 May 2021.
