Polymer RTP Instrument Capabilities
This Polymer Characterisation Research Technology Platform contains a number of instruments divided between several locations belonging to either Chemistry or Research Technology Platforms. In some cases, the instrumentation belongs to Chemistry but is run and maintained by the RTP.

GPC Suite
Our flagship lab hosts 6 of our 8 GPCs and a field flow fractionation instrument. With these instruments we can measure the molecular weights and architecture of most polymers.
Thermal Lab
Our largest lab is host to a number of thermal and mechanical instruments such as DSC, TGA and rheology.
Particle Sizing Lab
This lab contains our particle sizing instruments along with some mechanical testing, drop shape analysis and our FTIR.
HPLC Lab
We are custodians of this lab on behalf of Chemistry where it contains our HPLCs and 2 more GPC systems.
GC Lab
Our smallest lab (but perfectly formed) contains 4 GC instruments, including MS detectors and headspace injectors, and also an extra HPLC.
Benchtop NMR
We also have a benchtop NMR. It doesn't have its own lab as it's on wheels!
