Emotional Skills Development

Who is it for? 
Students who experience marked up-and-down and extreme emotions, with difficulty regulating these emotions that leads to impulsive behaviour and/or persistent stress and conflict in relationships.Students wishing to attend this programme need to be referred by either their (University Service) Counsellor or Mental Health Co-Ordinator.

  • An introductory session
  • Mindfulness skills session
  • Interpersonal effectiveness skills
  • Emotion regulation skills
  • Distress tolerance skills
 What will I get out of this?  An opportunity to learn and practice skills to help you identify and change the behaviours, emotional responses and thinking styles that cause problems and distress.

 Date: Wednesday 28th November 2018 between 2pm to 4pm is an opportunity to attend a half-hour pre-programme meeting with one of the facilitators. The programme then runs on

  • Wednesday 23rd January 2019 - 2.00-4.00 pm
  • Wednesday 20th February 2019 - 2.00-4.00 pm
  • Wednesday 13th March 2019 - 2.00-4.00 pm
  • Wednesday 24th April 2019 - 2.00-4.00 pm
