Navigate the complex open research landscape in a financially sustainable and efficient way, working closely with our academic community and national partners
Develop the university press to support publishing of academic outputs to meet the needs of our community
Improve discoverability of our resources and explore the application of emerging digital innovations, including linked data, artificial intelligence, and extended reality

Sustainable Spaces

We will provide inclusive digital and physical learning environments

Develop our main library & archives building, improving student experience and environmental, accessibility and wellbeing standards
Embed environmental and operational sustainability in all our physical and digital environments
Provide environments for our community that encourage disruptive, creative and innovative thinking through invention labs and digital accelerators

Daringly Digital

We will help preserve the world’s knowledge using digital tools

Modernise our digital library & archives infrastructure through the development of our library and archives services platforms and research repository and optimise the digital resources supply chain
Invest in automated enquiry management and digitalisation of processes for efficient and responsive service delivery
Develop a digital preservation programme to ensure that our institutional, cultural, and scientific outcomes and collections are preserved and remain accessible for future research, learning and engagement

Learning Leaders

Our library and archives will be an inter-disciplinary lab

Provide our students and researchers with transferrable information research skills and instil a sense of academic integrity
Increase engagement with our research, teaching, archives and special collections, within the university, and across the region, nation and globe to support world class education and research
Diversify and develop our internationally significant collections to support teaching and research and play a central role in creating an inclusive curriculum

Connected Community

We will co-create to create an inclusive community

Increase inclusivity and create a representative staff community, introducing career pathways to develop talent and succession planning in libraries and archives
Create a culture of continuous improvement putting our users at the heart of all we do
