Warwick Principles for the Evaluation of Research

As part of the University’s commitment to transparency and diversity in the use of metrics in the evaluation of research the Open Research Group (ORG) has developed the Warwick Principles for the Evaluation of Research.

The University is committed to the critical role that peer review and expert judgement plays in the assessment of research, but also recognises the value that quantitative metrics can play in complementing and supporting decision-making. These institutional principles for research evaluation and assessment, based on the recommendations presented in the Leiden Manifesto, will be implemented during 2021 by a working group of members from the academic community and professional services established through the Open Research Group.
