Introducing LSEG Workspace

LSEG Workspace is a new global company and financial markets database now available to all university students, staff and researchers. It replaces the LSEG Eikon and Mergent Online databases which are now retired and no longer available.

LSEG Workspace can be accessed remotely via an internet browser (unlike Eikon which was restricted to a dedicated computer terminal in the library), making business, economic, financial and industrial research more accessible to off-campus library users.

It features data and reports on companies and industries; mergers & acquisitions (M&A); environmental, social and governance (ESG); financial markets and macroeconomics; and Reuters news reports. It can also be enhanced with the Datastream (time-series data in Excel) and After Market Reports (broker and analyst reports) add-ons.

To access LSEG Workspace, users should first apply for a licence via the LSEG Self-Registration Portal. Once a licence has been allocated, users can then access the database via LSEG Workspace Web Access, or install a mobile app or desktop software onto their own device.

LSEG Workspace works like Eikon, so no additional training is required for users already familiar with the database. For new users, the LSEG Learning Centre offers a range of online training programmes, including an opportunity to undertake the LSEG Workspace Certification, which leads to a professionally recognised certificate.

Find out more on the LSEG Workspace Library Guide, which includes guidance on registration, access, training and certification.
