Library Stores
What are the Library Stores?
The Library Stores house material that is in less demand than stock on the main floors but is within an area of known teaching/research interest or is superseded, but still of scholarly value. The Stores are managed by the Resource Delivery team of the Library (contact details below).
How do I request material from store?
When you come across material in the Library Catalogue that is held in the Library Stores, the book or journal will have a location listed as either a Store or an External Store link.
If you click on the link you will be taken to an online form. Complete this with the details of the item you are requesting as well as your details.
Note: a separate form needs to be completed for each item you request. Forms are slightly different for journal requests and book or video requests. You will be prompted on the form if you have left out important information.
How long do requests take?

Collections are made daily Monday to Friday in term time. All items requested Monday to Thursday will be made available within 24hrs. Requests made on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday will be made available by the following Monday. |

Collections are made on Tuesdays and Thursdays in term time. Requests received before 09:45 on collection days will normally be dealt with the same day. Requests received after 09:45 will be carried forward to the next collection. |
How do I know when my requested material is available?
You will receive an email when your item is ready for collection. Loanable items can be collected from the Self Collection Holds area in Short Loan on Floor 1. Non-loanable items such as journal volumes can be collected from the Help Desk on Floor 1 of the Library. Loan periods are Standard Loan for the majority of Store books, although some items are for reference use only. Journals cannot be borrowed and are for use in the Library only.
Important - please note that some store items may only be collected from the Helpdesk during staffed hours.
