How to apply for funding for your short term international experience:
1. Find the opportunity you're interested in. Please view our short term opportunities here.Link opens in a new window You can also secure your own short term programme - it does not have to be listed on our webpage.
2. You can apply for funding for short term experiences for Summer 2025, from Spring 2025. Around 3 months before your placement, please check back here to see what funding you may be able to apply for.
3. If your experience is over 28 days in length, you can apply to the Turing Scheme (details below)
4. If your experience is less than 28 days, you can apply for the Short Term Bursary (however please note funding for this bursary is limited and not guarenteed). Please see details below.

Short Term Mobility Bursary
The Short Term Mobility Bursary provides an opportunity for students to apply for up to £500 towards the cost of undertaking a short international study, volunteering, unpaid work or research opportunity with a duration of LESS THAN 4 weeks. Priority shall be given to undergraduates and students who meet widening participation criteria. We have £20,000 funding to support students to undertake an opportunity in 2024/25.

Short Term Mobility Bursary - Round 2
- Apply for up to £500 to undertake a short international study, volunteering, unpaid work or research opportunity.
Application deadline: May 2025
Overseas opportunities - more than 4 weeks
Turing Scheme
Students can apply for Short Term Mobility Turing Scheme funding when undertaking a study, work or volunteering placement of 4 weeks+ (minimum 28 days) during Summer 2025. A minimum of 28 days must be concluded by 31 August 2025 to be eligible for funding.
Students can apply for funding from 3 months prior to the start date of their experience.
Applications open until May/June 2025. More information to follow in Spring 2025.

If students receive a Warwick in Africa, URSS or Work Experience Bursary they are not also eligible for Short Term Mobility Bursary funding.
