Short Term Funding
Funding applications for Summer 2026 opportunities are now open!
Overview
Students can apply for funding towards the cost of undertaking a short in-person international study, volunteering or research opportunity over the summer.
Important Information:
- Funding for 2025-26 is limited and there is a competitive application process.
- To apply, you must be a fully enrolled UG or PG student and undertaking a short term international opportunity of 3 days of more, taking place before end August 2026.
- Priority shall be given to undergraduates and students who meet widening participation criteria (see below) and have not yet undertaken an international opportunity during their time studying at Warwick in the first instance. Priority will also be given to opportunities advertised via our website.
- You must have secured the opportunity before you apply for the funding (evidence of your confirmed place is required)
- You can only receive funding from one university funding source in the same academic year
- The following opportunities are not eligible for short-term funding:

- If you've secured funds for an international work placement via Work Experience BursaryLink opens in a new window
- Independent cultural trips - it must be a structured opportunity to receive funding
- Opportunities taking place in the UK or your home country
- If successful with your funding application, you are required to provide a written reflective piece after your opportunity and share this with us within a week of returning home.

Who is eligible to apply?
Students who meet one or more of the below Widening Participating (WP) criteria will be prioritised
Students must submit evidence of their eligibility for the relevant WP criteria in their application
How to apply
Check which funding pot you're eligible to apply for below. You must only apply for one funding pot.
Short Term Mobility Bursary
If you do not meet the Turing scheme eligibility (Warwick Scholar or UG Bursary recipient with a placement of 28+ days) then you can apply for the Short Term Mobility Bursary.
The amount you receive will depend on the criteria you meet.
Funding is limited and the application competitive to those who submit full and complete documentation.
Short Term Mobility Turing Fund
If you are on the Warwick Scholars Undergraduate programmeLink opens in a new window or if you're a recipient of the UG BursaryLink opens in a new window (evidence required) and you're taking part in a 28+ day international opportunity, you are eligible to apply for Turing scheme funding. Funding is limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis to those who meet the criteria and submit full and complete documentation
