Your exams checklist
Your exams checklist
Read on to find useful information about upcoming exams and assessments, including a checklist of things you need to know before taking exams. We wish you the best of luck this exam season, and please remember that support is always available to you.
1. See your in-person exam venues
If you're taking in-person exams this summer term you can find a list of the venues across campus for centrally-timetabled exam sessions, and they'll appear on your timetable too. It's a good idea to locate your exam venue ahead of time using the campus map to ensure you know where to go.
2. Find out where to store your bags
We advise against bringing bags to examinations as there is only limited and unsecure bag storage available across examination venues. See details on bag storage availability and permitted items.
3. Check your alarms
When setting your alarms, always allow additional time to spare in case of unforeseen issues (e.g., traffic on your route to campus for taking in-person exams). If you have an Apple device, we encourage you to switch off the ‘Attention Aware’ setting which can lower the volume of your alarms.
4. Make the most of online trial exams
Remember, online trial exams are available and we strongly encourage you to take a trial, so you can familiarise yourself with the examination systems (WAS and AEP). Find out more about taking a trial exam.
5. Explore your options for Mitigating Circumstances, deferral and self-certification
At Warwick, we support you to succeed in sitting your assessments and exams by providing a number of options based on your personal circumstances. If you find yourself facing unforeseen circumstances which are outside of your control and are having a detrimental effect on your studies, you may be eligible to submit a Mitigating Circumstances claim. Find out more about your options, including submitting mitigating circumstances, deferral and self-certification.
6. Exams and assessments support
Remember, you can find everything you need to support you as you take exams and assessments on our minisite. Find FAQs on in-person and online exams, access exam timetables and get academic support and advice on how to prepare for whatever you've got coming up over the next few weeks.
