Divya - A dream coming true!

I am on a mission to contribute to a happier world, one person at a time. Life is how we see it. A decade back life seemed like a dark tunnel with no light at the end, I live in illumination today.

To introduce myself -- I have a beautiful family with 2 kids and a husband. Until 10 years back my aim in life as a home maker was to take care of them. Making sure they were well fed, do housekeeping, be present emotionally to everyone so they could deliver their best. Everyone but me. All the assumed responsibilities I took on myself were making life heavy and tiring. I was always fearing what if something went wrong and kept planning to ensure life does not fall out. I did not know what I wanted.

I felt lost.

As I reflect on my life experiences, I now see a pattern. Over the decades I have got ‘tired of being tired’. I can feel my energy going down. I love life and people. To be happy is my necessity.

One night I acknowledged I was feeling low -- I asked myself, ‘How would you like your life to be?’

My inner self said, ‘I refuse to live in fear. Life is fun, independent and free’.

I asked my inner self, ‘At the end of your life, when you look back, what would you like in your life?’

My inner self replied with glee, ‘That I did the things I wanted to. I lived MY life and not following what others assume life should be.’

I chose myself that day. I opened myself to the new experiences.

On my journey to independence, I took up a job and came across coaching as I explored what I will enjoy doing, as work. Studying coaching with University of Warwick was well recommended. And that’s how Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring with Centre for Lifelong Learning came in my life.

I took the course to empower myself. Coaching introduced me to listening, starting with listening to self. When I started acknowledging each part of me the courageous, the fearful, the caring I became my best companion who stood by myself no matter what. Loneliness did not touch me anymore. Coaching gave me tools to get clarity, make decisions, challenge assumptions, identify new perspectives, take action. I had the confidence of infinite growth in any area that interested me by taking small steps and building the skills.

Going back to University campus after decades was actually fun. My fellow coaches were from different walks of life health, music, charity, business and so welcoming. Loved our conversations at class and in café. Coaching introduced me to the power of experimentation and choice to find solutions that work with me.

Coaching transformed my life. I spotted and took promotions at work, my relationship with my teenage kids and husband improved. The course had a practical element of coaching clients. Clients were gaining confidence, stepping into meaningful work and finding joy in their life experiences partnering with me as a coach. They identified new perspectives of their troubled life and took progressive actions.

I was empowering clients to love their personal and professional life and be equipped to handle challenges with grace and clarity.

These transformational changes took me to setting my coaching practice partnering with clients to be the person they want to become which drives them to meaningful and joyous growth. This clarity often takes client to innovative solutions.

With clarity on the impact I want to make in the world, I attracted incredible opportunities and met inspiring people like being a UN Women UK delegate, a G100 country advisor, work with Obama Foundation and be a Group Lead for ICF West Midlands coaches. Currently I am hosting leadership programmes in the local schools, and offer my signature programme, Career Progression for a Compelling Life.

There you go -- ten years ago, I was lost, unsure of what life had in store for me. Today, I’m confident, running my own business, with stronger relationships and a sense of excitement for the next decade.

My vision for the next decade is a space with omnipresent illumination. There are no shadows of doubt or devaluing self-worth.

So, if you’re looking for that spark—if you want the confidence and motivation to handle anything life throws at you, and you’re passionate about people and believe in their potential—join the journey. Coaching has a dominos effect on the success of the people who interact with those partnering in the coaching relationship. Coaching isn’t just a career, it's a way to make a greater impact in the world, and maybe, just maybe, it’s the path you’ve been searching for too.
