Becky joined the Social Work Apprenticeship team at Warwick in November 2024. Prior to this she had been a Lecturer in Practice at Middlesex University.
Becky has 13 years experience working as a social worker in adult social care settings. She has worked in mental health settings including older adults, early intervention in psychosis services, and community mental health teams. She is a Practice Educator and a qualified Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP). Becky is currently a registered social worker with Social Work England.
Becky’s previous roles in teaching included been an ASYE training lead in adults services, as well as an AMHP training lead. Her main specialism is in mental health social work and teaching focused on The Mental Health Act (1983), The Mental Capacity Act (2005), The Care Act (2014), trauma informed practice, and different models of mental disorder. Becky also has teaching interests in psychodynamic theory, spirituality in social work, and ecological social work.
