Tabitha joined the University of Warwick in November 2024 as a Teaching Fellow, bringing a wealth of expertise and passion for social work education and practice. Since graduating with her Social Work degree in 2010, she has dedicated her career to supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism, specialising in advocacy, human rights, and empowering individuals to lead fulfilling lives.
Tabitha’s professional journey includes experience teaching social work students across both BA courses and degree apprenticeships both online and in person. As a Practice Educator and mentor, she makes use of her frontline experience to inspire and guide future social workers. Prior to moving into higher education she has worked within a social work academy supporting students, assessing practice educators and supporting newly qualified social workers. Tabitha achieved the Higher Education Academy (HEA) Teaching Fellow status in 2023.
In addition to teaching and mentoring, Tabitha has an interest in educational innovation and inclusivity. She is particularly passionate about supporting students with diverse educational needs and is actively exploring the transformative potential of digital technologies in education. Tabitha is currently completing a Master’s degree in educational technology,
Tabitha is registered with Social Work England and continues to promote the values of inclusion, advocacy, and human rights.
