Awards success for CLL staff and students in 2015

As we prepare to welcome a brand new year, we would like to take a look back at 2015, and in particular, the exciting collection of awards that have been won by staff and students here at the Centre for Lifelong Learning.

Liz Harrison, a student on the BA (Hons) Counselling and Psychotherapy Degree, won the PCCS Books Prize 2015 at the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) Research Conference 2015. The event was held in Nottingham on 15th/16th May.

One of our alumnus and one of our staff members have been recognised for their teaching practices in the Warwick Awards for Teaching Excellence.

Naomi de la Tour, who studied the 2+2 degree pathway with us from 2003 - 2008, won the prestigious Butterworth Award for her "extraordinary capacity for promoting and enhancing the Warwick experience for students."

Sara Hattersley, our E-Learning Manager, was been commended for her development of "an innovative blended learning platform that engendered a spirit of collaboration and empowered her learners to develop a set of robust reflective practice skills."

CLL Tutor Dean West won a Warwick Award for Teaching Excellence for Postgraduates Who Teach (WATE PGR). Dean teaches on the Foundations in Social Studies module which is a core module on our BA Social Studies degree course. Dean also runs academic skills development sessions at CLL.

Current MA Social Work student, Lydia Sampson, was chosen by Community Care magazine (the primary publication in social work circles) as the first ever recipient of their new ‘Social Work Hero’ award.

Congratulations to Liz, Naomi, Sara, Dean and Lydia on their inspirational work and success.
