Earlier this week, Dementia Friends Champion, Samantha Bradley, visited our MA Social Work students to teach them more about dementia and how they can help to create dementia friendly communities.

Jane Thakoordin, Teaching Fellow, said: “This was a great opportunity for our students to learn new skills to enable them to support people with dementia.”

Attendee, Sue, said: “This session was very informative, pointing out the mis- and pre-conceptions that people have about dementia, and suggesting ways in which to help people. I think that it would be worthwhile for everyone to attend a Dementia Friends session.”
