Coventry will be the UK's City of Culture for 2021

Coventry overcame fierce competition from several other UK Cities to be named as the UK City of Culture for 2021.

It was announced live on the BBC’s One Show that our City had been awarded the title ahead of Paisley, Swansea, Stoke-on-Trent and Sunderland.
 
But attention has now turned to what impact the successful bid will have on our City.

Financially, the bid will bring an initial £3million grant funding into the City. But what other benefits could we see?

Mark Hinton is the Centre for Lifelong Learning’s Community Engagement Development Manager. He focuses on building long-term relationships between the University and communities across the region. As part of his role he sits on the Community Engagement working group of Coventry’s City of Culture Bid Team.
