The Joint Standing Conference on University Teaching and Research in the Education of Adults (SCUTREA) and the Universities Association for Lifelong Learning (UALL) conference was held on June 6th - 9th 2022. We’re thrilled to share that our Director of Academic Studies Nalita James and Emeritus Professor Dr Barbara Merrill were awarded an Honorary Fellow and Honorary Membership.

The conference was hosted by the University of Glasgow’s Centre for Research & Development in Adult and Lifelong Learning (CR&DALL), which marked significant milestones – in particular the 50th anniversary of SCUTREA.

At this collaborative international conference, practitioners, activists, policy makers and academics from around the globe came together to discuss Lifelong Learning for Inclusion and Sustainability in terms of research, practice, and policy, with innovation at its heart.

As a response, Nalita says:

"It’s a great honour to win this award and be recognised for teaching and research in the field of adult education and lifelong learning, and that through that work I have enabled adults to access higher education, as well as seek opportunities for lifelong and life-wide learning."
