How can we 'read' the career of a public figure?

With a date now set for the EU Referendum, politicians are revealing which campaign they will back. Are they campaigning to leave the EU or to remain within it? Inevitably, this has led to some discussion of their motivations, and what consequences their decisions might have for their own political careers.

This is exactly the type of discussion that interests students who are undertaking our Career Studies courses here at CLL. Career Development Theories is currently a core module within our CDCS and CEIGHE courses. We asked Phil McCash (Course Director) how can we read the career of a public figure?

CLL Student to teach in Tanzania with Warwick in Africa.

Congratulations to CLL student, Julie Turley. She has been selected to spend this summer teaching in Tanzania with Warwick in Africa. Julie is currently completing our Postgraduate Diploma in Education (FE and Skills).

We asked Julie what inspired her to apply for Warwick in Africa, and how she feels the PGDE course has helped to prepare her for this challenge...

CLL staff nominated for 2016 University of Warwick Staff Awards

Several CLL staff members have been nominated for University of Warwick Staff Awards.

Dr Ravi Thiara & Dr Christine Harrison conduct research review for Women's Aid Child First campaign

Dr Ravi Thiara and Dr Christine Harrison from the Centre for the Study of Safety and Wellbeing (SWELL) at CLL, were commissioned by Women's Aid to write the literature review that informs the new Women's Aid Child First campaign. The campaign, launched 22 January 2016, is about child contact in the context of domestic violence.

Winter Graduation

We'd like to extend warm congratulations to all of our students who graduated today!

Students from our MA Social Work, BA (Hons) Early Years, and BA (Hons) Social Studies courses, attended this morning's Winter Graduation Ceremony, that took place in the Butterworth Hall.
