A Psychological Perspective on the Study of Decent Work
We are honoured to have Professor Ryan Duffy (University of Florida) hosting an Open Seminar on A Psychological Perspective on the Study of Decent Work at Warwick.
Ryan will present an overview of how decent work has been studied over the last decade within psychology. Specifically, the main tenets of Psychology of Working Theory (PWT; Duffy et al., 2016) will be reviewed, which has emerged as the dominant conceptual framework within psychology outlining predictors and outcomes of decent work attainment. Next, Ryan will highlight some of the more exciting lines of scholarship emerging from PWT informed scholarship. These include a stronger focus on decent education, examining how the theory functions cross culturally, and determining the degree to which people can experience their work as both decent and meaningful.
The event will take place hybrid with options to join online, or in-person on Warwick campus at FAB2.25, on Thursday October 26, 15:00-16:30 BST.
