Late Feedback

The University has a policy of returning all feedback to students within 20 working days (https://warwick.ac.uk/services/aro/dar/quality/categories/examinations/assessmentstrat/assessment/timeliness/). This is a commitment we make to our students. When we do not meet this deadline, students complain and the department’s standing in the NSS suffers. The University may take action against the department if we regularly miss this deadline.

If you feel that you will be unable to complete your marking on time, please discuss this in advance with the departmental office and the Head of Department. Early notice of difficulties may help us make alternative arrangements for marking, and allow us to explain to students what is happening to their work. Students understand that the personal circumstances of markers can sometimes delay feedback, but please keep in mind that only medical or personal emergencies are a valid reason for delayed marking.

If you know you will be unable to meet a marking deadline, please inform the module convenor (if this is not you) and email both the Head of Department and the undergraduate resource account (ugenglish@warwick.ac.uk) as soon as possible. Please let us know when you will be able to complete the marking so that we can inform the students. Please do not email the students yourself until we have contacted them: we need time to consider whether the affected students should receive an extension for other related assessments.
