Week 21: Decoloniality Today
This week we will interrogate the forms that anti-colonial resistance takes in the modern day. We will look at both scholarly and activist discussions of decoloniality, thinking about how Indigenous rights, ongoing settler
colonialism, and the legacies of British colonial rule are (and/or could be) challenged.
Seminar Questions:
1) What strategies do Indigenous peoples use to challenge settler colonialism today?
2) Did political independence mean that nations had fully 'decolonised'?
3) What enduring forms of coloniality exist today? Who is resisting this, and how are they doing so?
