Madness and Society: Assessment

ASSESSMENT

  • Seminar contribution (10%): Students will receive a formal participation mark for presentations in class (either a module source/document task or presentations on key readings) and their verbal contributions in class.
  • 1,500 word source-based essay (10%): Students will identify and reflect critically on a key source/archive. This might also work towards your 3,000 word essay. More guidance and sample questions and sources are available here.
  • 3,000 word essay (40%).
  • 2 hour examination (40%) (likely to be online and open book).

You will be expected to input into finding your own topic and sources and framing your title, so start planning assessed work early.
