Methods of Assessment 2022/23

  • Oral participation/engagement (10%) - assessed by participation over the full course.
  • 1500 word essay (10%), deadline Term 1, Week 9, Wednesday 29 November
  • 3000 word essay (40%), deadline Term 2, Week 10, Wednesday 13 March
  • 1 x 2 hour exam (40%), to be scheduled in Term 3, between Weeks 4-9

Feedback

You will receive feedback on your summative assignments on Tabula. The summative marks will be provided with the end-of-year results.

You are encouraged to attend tutorials for guidance on your summative essays.

You will be asked to provide feedback on the module content and delivery at several points throughout the year so that we can address any problems and make any necessary adjustments to the syllabus and teaching practice.

Contact Hours

Student contact hours for this final-year Special Subject module will be comprised as follows:

Lectures: Two two-hour lectures (4 hrs)
Seminars: Fifteen two-hour seminars (30 hrs)
Other: Film (2 hrs)
Tutorials: Two hours of feedback and long essay preparation (2 hr)
Revision: Two two-hour revision sessions (4 hrs)
Total: 42 hours
