Social Learning Spaces
The History Department has two dedicated Social Learning Spaces (FAB3.57 and FAB3.60) on the 3rd floor of the Faculty of Arts Building. These Social Learning Spaces act as community hubs for the department. They are spaces for informal studying, meetings, skills sessions and social events: spaces for students and staff to come together to share their interest in, and enjoyment of, History.
Coming in Summer 2022:
After consultation with History staff and students in Spring 2022, the spaces have been designed with our community at their heart. From Summer 2022 expect to see:
- Large vinyl decals that specify the spaces as belonging to the "Department of History".
- Large screens that will share department information, advertise events, celebrate staff and student awards, research, and publications, and will be a space to share recommendations of books, articles, and historical sources, as well as advice, tips and guidance on studying. The screens will also be accessible via Solstice for events and group working. Further information about how to share something on the big screens will be available soon.
- A dedicated noticeboard for the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Staff-Student Liaison Committees (SSLCs) (FAB3.57)
- A dedicated noticeboard for HistSoc, the Warwick History Society (FAB3.57)
- History Month Exhibits co-curated between students and staff (FAB3.57)
- Dedicated space for Student Research (e.g. URSS posters) (FAB 3.60)
- A permanent exhibition created by students, charting the history of the Warwick History Department (FAB 3.60)
- Five A1 framed posters designed by History students and staff.
