SCFS runs its Work Placement Fair for 2024

On Tuesday 29th October, the School for Cross-Faculty Studies (SCFS) ran its Work Placement Fair, offering Warwick students the opportunity to meet students who have undertaken a work placement and find out more about their experiences.

GSD Graduation: Congratulations Class of 2024!

On 22nd July we were pleased to witness our 2024 GSD final year students graduate. Celebrations included a graduation ceremony at Butterworth Hall

(Warwick Arts Centre) followed by a celebratory lunch where student awards were also presented.

We are extremely proud of Dr Gioia Panzarella (Global Sustainable Development) and Dr Bryan Brazeau (Liberal Arts) for winning the 2022 Warwick Awards for Personal Tutoring Excellence (WAPTE)! The WAPTE Team received more nominations than ever before this year from both students and staff, so it is a real testament to their commitments to personal tutoring to be acknowledged at this level.

We are pleased to announce the publication of the report on the first School for Cross-faculty Studies Student Equity Survey.


Bronze Athena SWAN Award for School for Cross-faculty Studies

The School for Cross-faculty Studies is delighted to announce that it has been successful in its application for the Athena SWAN Bronze Award. We are now engaged in implementing our five-year Athena SWAN Action Plan.

We are delighted to announce that several academic members of staff from the School for Cross-faculty Studies have received promotions:

All of the above promotions came into effect on 1 August 2021, apart from Dr Nicholas Bernards’ promotion which has been in effect since 1 July 2021.

We congratulate Nick, Bryan, Kirsten, Stéphanie, Gioia, and Gavin on their success! These promotions reflect their commitment to their work and we are proud to have these colleagues as valued members of the School for Cross-faculty Studies.

We are delighted to share the news that final-year Liberal Arts student, Matilda Oduntan, and Sociology and GSD graduate, Seiwaa Osei Afriyie, have been named among the UK’s most outstanding African and African Caribbean future leaders.

The latest issue of Reinvention: an International Journal of Undergraduate Research presents a diverse range of content and themes that all comment on ideas of interconnectedness, interdisciplinarity, and sustainability. Moreover, it includes several contributions from students and staff in the GSD Department!
