This page provides information on key LGBTQUIA+ inclusion initiatives, resources, and support available for members of the Warwick community. It is non-exhaustive, but offers an accessible starting point.

Engage with inclusive best practice

The Queering University programme has a library of best practice guidance and resources, with sections on terminology & language, allyship, and providing support for LGBTQUIA+ people.

Pledge your support with pronouns

Taking our pronouns pledge makes it simple to engage with inclusive best practice on pronouns, and to build a movement of people taking these steps together.Pledge to take six simple actions to further inclusive pronoun practices at Warwick.

We provide free pronoun badges for staff and students throughout the year.

Mental Health Day: LGBTQ+ Mental Health Resources

Being LGBTQIA+ isn't a mental health problem, and it doesn't cause mental health problems. But those of us who are LGBTQIA+ often face difficult experiences, like discrimination and stigma. These experiences can affect our mental health. Access Mind's LGBTQIA+ mental health resources here.

Get actively involved

The Rainbow Allies scheme exists to empower all members of our community to create a safe and inclusive environment LGBTQUIA+ people at Warwick. Sign up to be a Rainbow Ally here.

We are currently recruiting volunteers to support with the planning and delivery of the 2024 Pride Festival. Please get in touch if you are potentially interested.

If your role or interests relate to teaching & learning, join the Queer & Trans Pedagogies learning circle. The circle discusses, develops, and shares best practice relating to trans-inclusive teaching and queer pedagogy.

When you feel ready, you can also become a Queering University contact for your department. Contacts support others around them to get more involved.

If you're part of the LGBTQUIA+ community, don't forget the LGBTQUIA+ Staff Network and/or Warwick Pride, the student association for LGBTQUIA+ students.
